"Da più di cento anni lungo il Viale della Stazione di Ponte a Moriano due file di magnifici tigli ombreggiano e ossigenano la zona, infatti già negli anni in cui Emanuele Balestreri fece costruire " La Tranvia" a vapore, utilizzata per il trasporto delle merci e delle persone, da Ponte a Moriano alla stazione ferroviaria di Lucca, gli alberi erano presenti come testimoniano le cartoline illustrate dell'epoca.
Con il trascorrere degli anni alcuni tigli si sono ammalati e per non recare danni a persone e abitazioni le varie amministrazioni comunali sono intervenute facendo abbattere gli alberi pericolosi e successivamente messi a dimora nuovi tigli, in modo da conservare intatta l'armonia del viale.
Anche l'attuale amministrazione comunale è intervenuta abbattendo diversi tigli malati, ma purtroppo da più di un anno sui marciapiede di ambo i lati della Via della Stazione vi sono ancora le ceppe dei tigli tagliati, come si evidenzia dalle foto allegate.
Mi chiedo perché non si sia intervenuti contestualmente a l'abbattimento degli alberi con la rimozione delle ceppe e radici sottostanti? Tra l'altro questi residui non solo possono essere di intralcio e pericolo per i pedoni che usufruiscono del marciapiede, ma dimostrano una notevole incuria.
Inoltre mi domando? Gli alberi abbattuti erano malati e forse infettati da parassiti? Non era quindi necessario togliere completamente e nello stesso momento anche tutte le radici.
E' evidente che aver lasciato le radici e le ceppe sui marciapiedi ha di fatto ritardato la piantumazione di nuovi tigli.
Auspico pertanto un intervento per rimuovere le ceppe e le radici e successivamente la messa a dimora di nuovi alberi, in modo da conservare la bellezza e l'armonia del Viale della Stazione".
